About Aston University's Metal Society

Aston University Metal Society was formed in 2005 by three students in the students union bar Einsteins (as all good stories start) by Michelle Emery, Craig Billyard and Matt Kimberley when Matt and Shell spotted the lonely metaller in the bar, from there the society grew as the three hunted down the long-haired types within the university and got down to the serious business of head banging and drinking.

It all started for those at Aston who weren't really into their Green Day and who had nobody to find to go to Bloodstock and Wacken and the like. From there the society set outs its mission, to bring real metal to Birmingham's central University, right where it should be. Aston's Metal Society missions are basically to get like minded people into similar bands to gigs, underground clubs, pubs and festivals. We are also aiming to form strong ties between Birmingham's (And further afield) bands and Aston's students.
